“My objective in painting is to so clearly express the sublime quality of my momentary experience with a subject that the occasional person who has had a similar experience will be touched at a deeper level in response. My attempt at communication most certainly also requires the intuitive participation of the viewer for a successful completion.”

ARTIST STATEMENT
Following years of representational painting, I was drawn into a personal retreat, completing a two year project of painting abstractions based upon rock formations: “Transformation Rock”. I notice that my spontaneous approach to art now more closely mirrors my impressions of nature. I changed in those two years. In letting go of rules and tradition in order to improve my art, I also found myself transformed. I am now more transparent and feel a heart-centered connectedness to all life.

I refer to my work as mindscapes, painting with freedom as well as a challenge to honor the nature’s beauty by exploring a deeper truth, searching beyond the visual to find that sublime connection and express the greater reality of unity.
