It has been said that the wind of heaven is that which blows between their ears. Their bodies are powerful, living machines powered by ‘green’ energy. If you treasure the notion of the horse as a symbol of freedom and unfettered instinct, then ‘Unbridled Beauty’ an upcoming exhibit at the Poudre River Arts Center is a must see. The show celebrates the graceful beauty, strength and heroism of the horse with works in a variety of media. The main gallery will feature an invitational show with art by award winning artists Bob Coonts, Kate Dardine, Adrian Davis, Lorri Acott-Fowler as well as the artwork of the Poudre River Artists. Upstairs in the new ‘Art Loft Gallery’ there will be an additional exhibit of equestrian art by local and regional artists. Not enough horse art for you, then don’t miss the Center for Fine Art Photography’s show ‘All Things Horses’ also at the Poudre River Arts Center.

This event is free to the public. The opening reception is first Friday, September 5, 2008 from 6-9:00 and continues to September 16th. There will be light refreshments and live acoustic music by guitarist Maxwell Hughes during the opening. The Poudre River Arts Center is located at 406 N. College Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado. Hours are Wed.- Sat. 10:00-5:00.

Coming in October - Poudre River Arts Center's second anniversary event
