Legacy
Land Trust Fundraiser Closing Reception is This Friday
This Friday, November 6, is First Friday and
we at Poudre River
Arts Center have an awesome night in store for you!
In
The PRAC Gallery:
The closing reception for the Legacy
Land Trust 8th Annual Art for Conservation Fundraiser in
our main gallery from 5-9 pm. Their show is
definitely worth seeing, as there is a diversity of painting
styles, photography, and sculpture pieces available to bid
on. The money raised by Legacy Land Trust goes toward preserving
open space in our region. There will be wine, food
and song, too!

Come and meet our new artists!
Carbon
Art Photography is now in studio #201, at the
top of the stairs. Be sure to meet Jeff and Tim and see their
family photography as well as some of their fine art photography
work.
We've also got Matt Oke of Run the Gamut and
photographer Mark James in the studio on the
first floor. Mark primarily uses a pinhole camera for his work
and his photos are stunning.
And see what our other artists have planned!
- Carol Simmons will be offering polymer clay
beads and elastic cords for kids to make bracelets.
- We put out an open call to local artists -- theme is Landscapes.
This show will be in studios 210, 212, and 214, along the south
side of the upstairs hallway. Featured artists include Erin
Woodruff-Stern, Francisco Esteban and Jayne
Baumeister.
- Tracey
Kazimir-Cree will have class samples and signup
sheets for upcoming workshops in bookmaking and journaling.
- Kat Peters-Midland will
demo building cement sculpture throughout the night.
- Gale Whitman has
reproductions of the large paintings she did for Hastings College;
they are giclee prints on canvas at 1/2 the original scale.
The triptych (18" tall whereas the originals were 36")
will be on display in our main hallway upstairs. This past
month Gale have been working on several acrylic paintings,
and experimenting with various styles, techniques, and painting
surfaces. Come see her works in progress!
